Welcome to Destination Crenshaw’s updated Website! We’ve made tremendous progress since we were last able to gather in person, and we’re excited to bring our DC family up to date. After three years of community meetings, town halls, charrettes and quarterly conversations with residents along the 1.3 mile stretch that will be home to Destination Crenshaw, the project is now ready to rise. Construction begins this month, and when we’re done in mid 2022, the Crenshaw Corridor will have 10 beautifully designed and landscaped community spaces, world-class architecture and 100 works of art created by local and world renowned Black artists.

We’ve also launched a bi-monthly newsletter will keep you informed on everything happening with the project. In it you’ll find features on Destination Crenshaw’s efforts to support businesses along the corridor, construction updates, profiles on the artists whose work will be displayed and other news from the heart of Black LA.

I’m also thrilled to introduce Jason Foster, Destination Crenshaw’s new president and Chief Operating Officer. Jason brings years of organizing and development experience to the project along with stellar financial skills.

Lastly, this is an infrastructure project, but our purpose is not to just build something beautiful. It is to see that Destination Crenshaw becomes an economic engine in the community, employing Black construction workers, Black architects and Black artists with strong connections to Los Angeles. I know these are tough times. Our community has been battered by the health and economic devastation caused by COVID, but we will get through to the other side if we stick together. What can we do? Stay organized, help each other, and keep pushing forward through it all.

With Hope,
